Lagos State University, also known as LASU, is located in Ojo, a town in Lagos State, Nigeria. Lagos State University (LASU) is the only state university in the former British colony.
The university was established in 1983 by the enabling law of Lagos State, for the advancement of learning and establishment of academic excellence; its motto being For Truth and Service
THE VISION
To provide Lagos state with the required human capital for the sustenance of her position as the commercial and industrial hub of the federal Republic of Nigeria and the strategic transformation of the industrial capacity of the state in particular, as well as the country in general.
THE MISSION
The mission of Lagos state university is “To provide qualitative education to the large populace of Lagos State in particular and Nigeria as a whole by preparing them for the challenges of managing the public and private sectors of the state.”
LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) LOCATION
The Lagos State University Ojo (LASU) is located along the Ojo Badagry express way of Lagos state.
The Lagos State University currently operates three major campuses, namely: Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe. The Ojo campus is the Main Campus and the seat of the Central Administration.
It houses the faculties of Arts, Education, Law, Management Sciences, Science and Social Sciences, School of Transport, School of Communication, Centre for Environment Studies and Sustainable Development (CESSED), Centre for General Nigerian Studies, Centre for Planning Studies, Information and Communication Technology Centre (ICTC), Online and Distance Learning and Research Institute (ODLRI) and Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies.
The Postgraduate School is also on the Ojo Campus. The Ikeja Campus is home to the University College of Medicine (LASUCOM).
The Epe campus accommodates the Faculty of Engineering, the School of Agriculture and the Institute for Organic Agriculture and Green Economy.

LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY (LASU) SCHOOL FEES SCHEDULE
NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS TUITION FEE
New Special Programme (Regular with Entrepreneurship Training) <> One Hundred and Fifty Thousand (₦ 150,000).
The reason for the wide gap between fees paid by new and returning students is because, the money paid by new students will be used to clear them with the school body.
Also a one-time payment for entrepreneurship training is included in the fees paid by new students.
RETURNING STUDENTS TUITION FEE
Old Students are expected to pay Twenty-Five Thousand naira (₦ 25,000) Per Session until they graduate from the institution.
Immediately you find out that you have been offered a provisional admission into LASU the first thing to do is to pay your acceptance fee of ₦ 20,000 only.
Note that you will have to pay ₦ 10,000.00 separately. This ten thousand naira is for medical screening which will show how fit you are,blood group, genotype and lots of information about you.
LASU HOSTEL FEE
Currently, the Lagos State University, LASU accommodation hostel fee is between N 50,000 to N 70,000 for each student.
Students interested in the school hostel accommodation should proceed to the Students’ Affairs Division of the Lagos state university.
Note that there is limited space in the hostel so you are advised to go and process your accommodation on time.
LASU STUDENT LIFE
The students are regularly in extra-curricular activities spanning all schools in the state for a fun filled learning, sharpen skills, broaden the mind, discover talents, develop sportsmanship, encourage team building and cooperation.
This also help in making lifelong friends in the University community.
The students learn more about the socio-cultural ethics, the arts and beauty of the state.
